Protect Your Oral Health
Developing a good oral hygiene routine is an important part of maintaining a healthy smile—and a good routine includes visiting your dentist for a regular exam and cleaning.
Our comprehensive dental exam is designed to make you feel comfortable while we check for dental problems, remove plaque build-up, and help reduce your risk of gum disease. We offer services for the whole family, including pediatric dentistry.
Feel confident showing off your smile! Take a step towards better oral health by booking your next appointment today.
How Often Should You Have a Dental Exam?
Even if you have no noticeable signs of oral health problems, it’s still important to visit your dentist regularly. Our preventative approach combines our experience and high-end dental equipment to keep your gums and teeth healthy.
In agreement with the Canadian Dental Association, we recommend coming in for an exam at least once every 6 months. We may suggest more frequent exams, depending on your specific needs.
What to Expect From a Dental Exam
A dental exam allows your dentist to take an in-depth look at your mouth to monitor for signs of anything that could impact your overall oral health. We’ll discuss your medical history and any issues you may be experiencing.
What We Examine
- Damaged or decaying teeth
- Signs of cavities
- Gum disease
- Oral cancer
- The spacing of your teeth and bite
- Signs of clenching or grinding
- Inflammation
- The function of your temporomandibular joint and signs of TMJ
What to Expect From a Dental Cleaning
Just like a complete dental exam, our dental cleaning helps maintain good oral health and prevent issues such as tooth decay and cavities, gum disease, or infection from arising.
Don’t worry; we’ll try not to ask you too many questions while performing our cleanings!
What Hygienists Do
- Remove plaque and tartar build-up
- Polish your teeth
- Floss to remove any excess plaque or polishing paste
- Use a fluoride treatment to help protect your teeth
